I'm getting my cut and sew on now that spring is here. Thrift store has been calling my name! Didn't have anything fresh to wear Saturday so I pulled out the mu mu looking bad ass paisley, pastel print skirt I picked up for $2... and snip snip! Now the turqoise belt is nothing but extra fabric from something else I chopped. Tried sewing that and let me tell you, a disaster is was that was. But I hid it well. May need to take a basic sewing class sometime. But for now guerilla style it is. The rack in the background is full of goodies for the spring so more ensambles to come.

After much consideration the survey says... A street bike is what that is! Most people reccomended a BMX bike, but I'd have to say I think I made a pretty good choice here. And let me tell you this bike is a total accessory to me. Bought it at a bike swap from a guy who painted it himself and loving every ride. Hopefully the Mr. Leppert will add some bike lanes to make the city a bit more bike friendly.

Part of my 2009 new years resolutions is to take on a few new hobbies. One of which includes bike riding. I was big into riding around back in 5th grade. I was the chick in the apartment complex who rode around all day during the summer. But I figured what a wonderful way to explore more of the city, snap some pics, get out the house and get in shape! But I've been torn on whether to go BMX or street. I wouldn't mind learning some tricking, but then I'd like to get around on some longer distances too.
I'm doing some research as we speak, so I'll keep you posted. Holler at me if you have any advice.

Feels good to be home! There is such a thing as eating out too much and drinking too much liquor... Let me tell you. I got to experience my first NBA All Star event in Phoenix at the Slam Dunk competition. It was "slammin" and all, but $300 nose bleeds is redic! No way I paid it. But my thanks go to Mr. John Starks who got my nose dripping. Phoenix is unbelievably beautiful and oh too short of a trip.

Next stop Vegas. Not for fun, but for work! Favorite memories.. Dave Stewart playing "Sweet Dreams" at our trade show, Christian Audigier rolling papers, In and Out Burger and bottles of Christal.

Jem and the Holograms (R.I.P. 1985-1988) were once my LIFE. The show was the perfect fusion of what I considered myself to be at age 4, sweet, colorful, musical and TOTALLY OUTRAGEOUS (which is the motto of the show)!

The synopsis... Jerrica Benton and her alter ego "Jem" owns a music production company with the help of her holographic computer synthesizer named Synergy. Jem and her girls are a band called The Holograms consisted of a keyboardist, guitarist and drummer who deal with beef thrown their way by "The Misfits". Together Jem and the Holograms perform with the goal of making it big and keeping their non profit foundation for foster girls and Starlight Music Studio running. Throughout the show the crew breaks into songs that are formulated as music videos MTV style. How cool is that? The music isn't too bad either. Check out some of the videos...

Travis Barker and DJ AM in Plane Crash

Travis and DJ AM were the 2 only survivors after a tragic plane crash in South Carolina. The leer jet crashed last night before midnight. The pilot, copilot, Travis' assistant (who appeared on the reality show The Barkers) and his body guard were killed at impact when the jet crashed into the street right at take off. Travis and AM managed to escape, but are in critical condition with Travis suffering burns below his waist and AM on his face. More info and pictures can be seen here.

This is not just a clothing line; it's a phenomenon! If you've wondered who the hell is Ed Hardy and why is he charging $80 for a t shirt? Here's the scoop... Ed Hardy's a prestigious tattoo artist that licensed the rights to former Von Dutch designer to produce a clothing line with the use of his art. Christian marketed the line to his famous counterparts and voila! A million dollar empire with every item under the sun. Let's see...sunglasses, air freshener, bedding, swimwear, energy drinks, car mats, underwear, jewelry, etc. You name it A to Z. All that's missing is an Ed Hardy condom. LOL. Sitting here in the Las Vegas airport waiting for a 12:40 am flight is no fun. Especially with the repetitive chant of the row of slot machines saying "Wheel-Of-Fortune!" I HATE red eyes. I've been gone for days on this "When I Move You Move" Ed Hardy/Christian Audigier trade show. No MAGIC show fashion inspiration for me this time. Instead I saw a slew of skulls, tigers and bulldogs! I also had my fare share of Cali constructed chicks with fake noses, tits, hair and probably ass that all looked like aliens from another planet. I'm not kidding. I've been all over the place latley, but have finally got a chance to get back to my guerilla sewing techniques. This summer I'm all about the dresses and mini's, so why not get to cutting. Ok, I've already kicked myself in the ass for not taking a pic of the entire before picture of the thrift store mumu I used to make my creation. But none the less I did take a pic of the fabric itself. Strechy, purple and abstract patterns are perfect characteristics for a new dress.

Yves Saint Laurent passed Sunday June 1 at 71 in his Paris home following a long illness. The French designer who was known to be the “designer of the feminist revolution” in the 1970’s helped build an empire at Dior Paris at the ripe age of 21.

YSL was the one guy that set the new standard in women’s ready-to-wear; and also was the first designer to give women what the really wanted…PANTS!!! His designs made the word Seduction transfer into the word Elegance with his slinky tuxedos and sheer blouses, conveying femininity.

This declared genius suffered through out his lavish jet set lifestyle, not only struggling with clinical depression, but also alcoholism and drug abuse; in 2002 Yves Saint Laurent spoke of those struggles, though said they weren’t the direct cause of his retirement from the fashion industries.

Mr. Saint Laurent once said, “Fashion fades, style is eternal.”

And for that, he will forever be missed.

As a new contributing writer for Fattie BOOM B, id like to start out my first editorial by saying “I am Women, hear me ROOOOOOAR!

And on that tip, Sex and the City is finally out!
And looking like the movie of the summer.

Surprisingly I am a 10yr. vet of cult classic Sex and the City and having been watching since the bulky ribbed turtle neck was in style. This is the show I would watch in my living room on mute so my mom didn’t hear Samantha talking about a pearl necklace. Growing up with these women every Sunday night in my quaint yet hippie ran home was a get away. Unlike all the other girls at my junior high school I felt like I had the inside on sex, and didn’t even have sex. Carrie, Miranda, Charlotte, and Samantha we there to educate me on oral sex, contraceptives, and staying away from men who shopped in the little boys section; and showed me emotions that I thought I could never have; but get quite often these days. They showed me how to stand up for what I believed in and wear what I wanted to wear. They were my heroines!

When I got into bed the night of the final season, season finale, I thought to myself; which SATC girl am I? Now that I look at it, I was all four of them. And I will never forget the many looks of Carrie, the many cynical comments of Miranda, the many selfless whines of Charlotte, and the many men of Samantha; Because that Is me.

So ladies get out your medium barrel curling iron for those Carrie waves,
put on that sarcastic smile for that Miranda kick in the face,
press your best polo button down for that adorable Charlotte charm,
keep the panties in the drawer for that ROAR like Samantha.
