Picnictyme in Quick DFW

That boy Picnic is wrapping up the year with a look at projects under his belt for 08 in today's Quick DFW. You can read the story here. Then check out Skin's Gemini Disco Soul Party Podqast to hear PPT's "Stop Believing", Myone from Strange Fruit Project's track "Nomad" (which is HEAT) and my personal fav the remix done for rock group Red Monroe's "Midnight Rites". Picnic flips this original rock track and turns it into an electronic fusion that makes you bang your head and dance at the same time!

New York is Engaged

NO, I didn't get sucked into the wackness of this annoying broad's season 2. But my hairdresser did. I'm sitting in the chair like, these dudes can't be serious. Well come to find out, Taylor Made, New York's choice has just proposed! egghhhh! He's so handsome and charming. I don't get it. Check his interview.

Holiday Blues

I'm so sad the Christmas is gone :( I was fortunate to spend quality time with family, and my boyfriend hit the nail on the head with his on point gifts. NO, I didn't get the Puma bike, BUT I did get the sewing machine and Puma Boots from my list! Not to mention a ceramic flat iron and a rice cooker! Still, the satisfaction of my gift giving was more of my highlight this year.

I also learned a new joke...

Why do Mexican's make tamales for the holidays?

Wait for it...

...

It gives them something to wrap! (I'm Latina so I can say that! LOL )

I made tamales for the first time this year. That shit is no joke.

50% Off Blue Tags

So I started the holiday weekend with some shopping for myself of course by going thrifting! BUT,when thrifting, money is no problem. Hence the word "thrifting". I hit up the huge Salvation Army on Harry Hines, and lucky form my ass it just so happened to be 50% off Blue Tags Day!

While digging for goods, I ran into some inspiring patterns. Guess which one I chose?

I chose numero tres! Loved that paisley. I ended up up making something interesting out of it too. Pics coming soon. Then more and more blue tags kept emerging! I couldn't resist.

Total spent on Mastercard: $23.00 The shit I'm going to make out of it: Priceless

Spin representing Dallas

Dallas is getting some love in the recent issue of Spin Magazine. PPT, The guys from the Party and some popular venues in town are covered in a Dallas highlight (finally right?) I have a feeling 08' will have much more in store for these guys that are making moves in the city. Pick up a copy!

Back to it

The holidays have had me running around, shopping for presents, making tamales and THRIFTING! But I promise more posts to follow!

ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS...

I remember when composing a Christmas list was my highlight of the year. After of 365 days of being "good", I was always fortunate enough to have my list of games, cd's and sneakers come to full fruition. Now I compose my list in "hopes". And it always helps to drop a hint or two to my boyfriend.

1. Sewing machine to remix my vintage finds.

2. PUMA BIKE: Living in East Dallas I'm close enough to some of my favorite shops, bars and restaurants, but not close enough for a walk. How fly would this PINK Puma bike be? I'm in love!

3.CLAW MONEY HOODY: These suckers are hard to come by. But if I get Xmas wish #1, I may be able to construct one myself.

4. PUMA SNEAKER BOOT: Believe it or not, I've never owned Pumas. Just really never was a fan. However these fuzzies are splendid.

5. MORE SHOES!!!: When you see me around you'll probably catch me in some boots, but these red shell boots are a must have.

6. LAME GYM BAG: 2008 is the year to reach my fitness goals (yeah, that's what everyone says, but I'm serious this time). So I think a cool bag will be motivating.

The Party Goes to Funky Town

Index Arrivals

It's been a lazy Sunday indeed. Sleeping in, watching the Cowboys fight for their 12-1 record and indulging in Little Caesar's pizza is always relaxing. But my vitamins have kicked in so it's time for me to get back on it. Check out the new items that just arrived to Index. Good thing about these guys is there size runs. So for all my size 7 (in men's) girls, check this shop out. (Kinda far but worth it).

Mayweather VS Hatton

It goes down tonight! I've been anticipating this one for a while. Way more than I did his last battle with De La Hoya. My money is on Hatton. Someone's got a put a stop to Floyd's arrogant ass! He's can't be the champ forever. We'll see.

I was fortunate enough to work with Bridget Washington in styling for a fashion spread in Basic Magazine. Here are a few snap shots of the crew in what was a "Stepping out of your realm theme". I'll post up some of the final product soon.

Cowboys VS Packers

Yeah, it was a mere coincidence, but the girls in the office and I were sporting all blue in hopes for "Them Boys" to get in those Packer's asses!

Christmas Is Coming!

As of the last time I wrote, I'm about 10 lbs heavier (I think). Thanksgiving in San Antonio, is no joke! But since then I'm getting my xmas list ready, hitting the gym and racking in some new projects.

While compiling my xmas list I ran into a great line called Rojas out of Cali. It has a perfect blend of edge and femininity and is mostly cut and sew. The newest pieces blow me away! This is taking a black tie affair to whole new level.

Mini Tux Jacket

Cumberbun Skirt (model is beat though and should be shot for that bra)

Larry King Live Tonight

Check out CNN tonight's Larry King Live Show. He'll be interviewing Jan Adams, the guy that did surgery on Kanye's mother. I've heard some sketchy rumors about this guy's practice, so I'll be tuning in.

Project Runway

Season 4 of Project Runway finally premiered last! This is one of my fav shows, so I've been waiting for this. Once again casting did their damndest to choose the most opposing personalities.

Most memorable are Carmen, the Kelis look a like with style and design right up my alley and former model.

Chris the obease gay New Yorker

Christian, a cocky ass young gay guy that talks mad shit.

My favorite... this chick name Elisa; a Dallas graduuate from Booker T. Washington who seems to be on that green. Ole girl makes her peice in just a few hours and sleeps the rest of the night and makes a cool dress but adds some crazy junk at the end that totally kills it. She almost gets cut, but she really makes for good TV so I think she'll be around for a while. You can tell she has skill though.

Their nothing like the cast from season 2, but I guess it's to early to judge.
