The Gucci or the Louis?

I think I've reached the point of Southern aceptance. From what you've seen on my previous posts I've got a pretty wide range of musical taste. But lately this little dude Gucci Mane has got me riding. His lyrics may lack substance, but the shit makes me laugh, bob my head and the beats make me bounce around like a southern fool. Maybe it's the new big body Charger ride that's got me on this tip, but I don't know. I mean I do like his voice and delivery. Fuck it. Let's let go of the judgement and enjoy music like we enjoy life; without boundaries and limits.

Here's a free copy for you.

BELTED, BUCKLED and BOOTED!

I've been gone, but with plenty of reason. Now officially a licensed real estate agent and independent sales rep for a few clothing lines, there were steps for transition that needed to be taken. I'm now belted, buckled and booted in all realms. Here we go! Summer was a little bit distracting as well :-) With all that aside... I've gotta plug my business....

If you need an apartment, loft, house, condo, high rise or WHATEVER...Do reach out to me; you now have my government name.

The Alexa Chung Show!

MTV and Alexa Chung have paired up to create an hour long daily program known as, of course, "The Alexa Chung Show". They say its going to be a variety type show, and will be replacing TRL.

In 2007, Chung came to the attention of the fashion press for her impeccable style. Alexa has appeared on many Best Dressed Lists, as well as sitting front row at many distinguish fashion shows. She has zeroed out the saying of "It Girl" saying, “there’s not much to being an It girl. It’s really quite a depressing title to hold”.

If you don't know Alexa Chung, read up about her. Not only can she rock a closet, but her smile can melt anyones heart.

Shoe Dazzle (For My Shoe Skanks)!

Calling all my shoe sluts!!! I just heard of Kim Kardashian's newest venture, and let me tell you it's genius. It's called Shoe Dazzlewhere for $39 a month you become part of the "society" that'll be presented with a new pair of shoes at the start of each month (sorry sneaker heads). Not just any cheap shoe, but Michael Antonio's and other well known brands.

Each shoe is chosen by the stylist panel that specifically caters to your style which is determined only after you go through your fashion survey. There, you're asked to choose outfits you would wear, other shoe styles you prefer, your favorite clothing designers and a few other things. In a days you're presented with 6 shoes where you select your first pair. Every month after that the get at you with 6 more to choose from. And if you're a little too broke that month... you skip it and pay nada!!! My sexy shoe game starts next month. Help me choose.

Love the Future

Almost one year later of learning and blogging about Chester French, their album finally drops! I have to say that the anticipation was followed by more than just gratification. If you haven't yet, do buy this album asap. Every track is remarkable, and absolutely love the random music interludes are rare but perfect touches. Listen to all the songs on their page and buy it off of itunes.

Snip, Snip and Pin

I'm getting my cut and sew on now that spring is here. Thrift store has been calling my name! Didn't have anything fresh to wear Saturday so I pulled out the mu mu looking bad ass paisley, pastel print skirt I picked up for $2... and snip snip! Now the turqoise belt is nothing but extra fabric from something else I chopped. Tried sewing that and let me tell you, a disaster is was that was. But I hid it well. May need to take a basic sewing class sometime. But for now guerilla style it is. The rack in the background is full of goodies for the spring so more ensambles to come.

Street Bike It Is

After much consideration the survey says... A street bike is what that is! Most people reccomended a BMX bike, but I'd have to say I think I made a pretty good choice here. And let me tell you this bike is a total accessory to me. Bought it at a bike swap from a guy who painted it himself and loving every ride. Hopefully the Mr. Leppert will add some bike lanes to make the city a bit more bike friendly.

Amber Rose

I don't care what anyone says, I love looking at Amber Rose! As you see she needed a little help in the fashion department. But so what if Kanye's "What Not to Wear" team had to take her to the back room. All I know is she came out a new woman and rocks it all very well.

AFI Dallas-FLICKS

Too many movies and not enough time! From now to March 2nd you can take advantage of The American Film Institute's Dallas screenings at the Magnolia Theater and AMC N. Park Galleria. I'm super excited for Tyson, The Fan and Sugar. And I'm kicking myself for missing Prom Night in Mississippi. (Do look them all up!) Go to afidallas.com for a whole movie schedule and synopsis.

And while on the movie tip, I've got to share a couple of upcoming fims from some of my fav directors that I think are worth the anticipation

My most anticipated... Where the Wild Things Are- Spike Jones (I can watch this trailer over and over again! Reminds me of how I felt watching The Never Ending Story as a Kid).

The Inglorious Bastered-Quentin Tarantino

Marc is Getting Hitched!

My Favorite pretty boy Marc Jacobs is locking his love down to his boyfriend of 1 year. With his team and his meticulous attention to detail their wedding or whatever they'll be calling it will be spectacular! Maybe he'll design a limited addition purse to tie into the occasion.

Brown Girls Rule!!!!!

If you haven't heard, Beyonce is on this April's cover of Vogue, and just last month Michelle Obama graced the pages! That's 2 brown beauties back to back!!!! Seems like having a black president has started opening the door a little bit no? ?? Yeah for brown girls!!!

Interesting Facts...

5!-That's the number of African American American women to grace the covers of Vouge magazine since the first issue in 1892. Others include Jennifer Hudson, Oprha and Haley Barry.
117!-The number of years the magazine has existed.

No Mommy Pants Here

I'm not thinking about having kids any time soon, but the majority of females I know are married and have spit out a few. And I know it's normal to get into "mom mode" after child birth, but do you really have to lose your sense of style and interests? Is stumbled across this blog The Hipster Mom that proves to me that a women's swag doesn't have to go out the window after kids. From kids street wear clothing lines to interviews with marijuana activist mothers to be, this girl shares the real about mother hood, her career and all else in between.

Kanye x Vuitton

It seems setting one's ego aside and being an intern does pay off. A few months ago Kanye did just that in Paris over at Louis Vutton and now voila! The new Ye x Louis sneak. Didn't blow me out the water, but I'd have to say the company did a good job fuzing what Kanye and what LV represent. The price tag... I'm sure will represent the same. Check for these sometime in June.

BMX vs. Street Bike

Part of my 2009 new years resolutions is to take on a few new hobbies. One of which includes bike riding. I was big into riding around back in 5th grade. I was the chick in the apartment complex who rode around all day during the summer. But I figured what a wonderful way to explore more of the city, snap some pics, get out the house and get in shape! But I've been torn on whether to go BMX or street. I wouldn't mind learning some tricking, but then I'd like to get around on some longer distances too.
I'm doing some research as we speak, so I'll keep you posted. Holler at me if you have any advice.

VS

Take a little Trip

Feels good to be home! There is such a thing as eating out too much and drinking too much liquor... Let me tell you. I got to experience my first NBA All Star event in Phoenix at the Slam Dunk competition. It was "slammin" and all, but $300 nose bleeds is redic! No way I paid it. But my thanks go to Mr. John Starks who got my nose dripping. Phoenix is unbelievably beautiful and oh too short of a trip.

Next stop Vegas. Not for fun, but for work! Favorite memories.. Dave Stewart playing "Sweet Dreams" at our trade show, Christian Audigier rolling papers, In and Out Burger and bottles of Christal.

3rd Fashion Obsession {The Harem Pant}

Fashion is all about taking risks and I'm jumping out there with the Harlem Pants. That's what they call them in LA, but you may hear them called "Hammer Pants" or something else. I tried these on and fell in love. Not sure if these will get any love in Dallas, but I sure will rock.
